rispost Never Before Seen Beatles Interview Found

July 1st, 2008

The BBC will air a long lost Beatles interview featuring John Lennon and Paul McCartney talking about the day they met and their songwriting partnership.  The amazing film interview lay forgotten for over 44 years in a garage in south London until film fan Richard Jeffs realized a piece of pop culture history at his fingertips. Experts were quite surprised to find the audio portion still usable for radio broadcast.

The nine-minute interview was recorded at the Scottish Television studios in April 1964 during the early days of Beatlemania. It will be broadcast for the first time on BBC Radio 4 on Tuesday and repeated later this week.  On the tape, Lennon tells how he was playing with a skiffle band outside Liverpool when McCartney introduced himself.  I am really looking forward to hearing this historic interview.

rispost Grammy News

February 11th, 2008

British singer and tabloid start wins song and record of the year but loses album of the year in a huge upset to Herbie Hancock. Kayne West wins four Grammys including rap album of the year.

Winehouse, nominated for six awards, lost the final prize in a shocker when Herbie Hancock took album of the year for “River: The Joni Letters.”

For a while it seemed impossible that Winehouse would perform at all. She recently entered a drug rehabilitation center after months of erratic behavior and canceled performances, not to mention the anthemic “no, no, no” resistance of her hit song.

Let’s hope that the support of her mom is enough to keep her clean for now.

rispost A little bit of country

January 1st, 2008

Jessica Simpson is in the early stages of recording a country album in Nashville, a project slated for a May/June 2008 release via Columbia Records.Simpson said she had always wanted to make a country album, but was waiting until the right time.

“I think there is a strength in female country artists,” Simpson said, citing Martina McBride, Shania Twain, Faith Hill and Reba McEntire as some of her inspirations. She said she would be involved in the creative process.

“Writing is a release for me,” she said. “It’s a way for me to tell my story. That’s not to say I wouldn’t record a song that I didn’t write.”

Her last album, “A Public Affair,” spent just nine weeks on the Billboard 200 in 2006. Her most recent movie, “Blonde Ambition,” was recently released in a handful of theaters in her native Texas en route to DVD stores.

rispost Music Hall of Fame Considerations

October 1st, 2007

Among those being considered, Madonna, the Beastie Boys and Donna Summer have all been nominated for induction into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an industry report says.   Also in the running are Leonard Cohen, John Mellencamp, Chic, the Dave Clark Five and Afrika Bambaataa, according to Billboard magazine.

The nominees are chosen by a committee and are whittled down to a final list of five by more than 600 music experts.  Those acts will enter the hall, which is based in Cleveland, Ohio, in March.  Musicians can be considered for the honour 25 years after their first recording.

Last year’s inductees were REM, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Van Halen, the Ronettes and Patti Smith.  Once included, the artists are featured in the Museum’s Hall of Fame exhibit.  This includes a computerised jukebox containing every song of every inductee and a film on three big screens recounting their careers and music.  I am sure Madonna is a lock as is John Mellencamp.

March 12th, 2007

3GP is next generation technology based on MPEG 4 format. This file format is playable on 3G mobile phones. All the latest 3G Mobile phones support 3GP files as it is now industry standard. The technology is getting more popular as many 3G mobile phones have entered the market and prices are cheap. 3GP stores and delivers high quality format videos. 3GP Videos are new cutting-edge technology where you can carry all your favorite music videos with you and share them with your friends.

In the market you can find many converters and if you are not familiar with those then you can download mobile videos from the different sites or search Google using the search term “3GP Videos”. You will find many sites that are offering 3GP files.

Most people ask questions after they have downloaded the files to their PC and are able to play the file. For them, the answer is quite simple, you can play those files using Real Media Player or Quick Time for windows.

Sometimes due to compression versions you can see the quality video on PC but on Mobile phone as the screen resolution is small these videos work even bettter especially on 3G mobile phones.
