April 25th, 2006

This Summer they will kick-off a 35-date tour, promoted by TNA International.  It will begin July 6 at the Tweeter Center near Philadelphia, and run through Sept. 10 at the Post-Gazette Pavilion in Burgettstown, Pa.. The tour will play a mixture of amphitheaters and arenas.

Young will be touring in support of two albums, his acoustic “Prairie Wind” album released last September, and a politically-charged rock album “Living With War” due in mid-May.

There will be a fanclub pre-sale later this week, and tickets will go on sale to the general public this weekend.

CSNY last toured back in 2002, grossing more than $35 million, ninth best for the year, and drawing 438,022 from 40 dates. The CSNY2K tour in 2000, the group’s first as a foursome in 20 years, grossed $42 million.

These old folks sure know how to rake in the dough!

Victor Edward Willis, 54, who dressed as the policeman in the band, appeared in court on Monday in San Mateo County, California, on Monday.

He was charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia and with providing false information to police by using a fake name.

Prosecutor Morley Pitt said Mr Willis has three cases pending against him.

The first involves charges of a probation violation and possession of cocaine, to which he has pleaded no contest, Mr Pitt said.

In the second, Mr Willis pleaded no contest to cocaine possession and possession of a gun, but failed to show up twice for a sentencing hearing last December.

Mr Willis was then stopped again by police on 26 March for what was initially a traffic violation.  He and his passenger, Stacy Brandt, 40, who told police she was a prostitute, were arrested.

Mr Willis, who went on to face the drug possession and false information charges, has not yet entered a plea in the case and is due back in court next Tuesday where the cases will be consolidated.

Mr Willis, who co-wrote the Village People hit YMCA, left the band in 1979.

rispost Those Dirty Minded Rockers

April 7th, 2006

As the Rolling Stones prepare to head to China for a performance the Chineese government had notified them of which songs they do not want played.

The government asked that Brown Sugar, Honky Tonk Woman, Let’s Spend the Night Together and Beast of Burden (and one more yet to be named song) not be played because of their suggestive lyrics.

Micks response?  “Fortunately, we have 400 more songs that we can play so it’s not really an issue.”

lee roth

I had no idea the David Lee Roth, THE David Lee Roth had replaced Howard Stern on seven radio stations.  Wow, it is surprising but also sounds kinda stupid, I mean he may look kinda like Howard Stern (a rocker) but anyone that knows anything about Stern knows David Lee Roth would make a very poor substitute, gawd are the radio execs dumb.

Anyways, David Lee Roth says he won’t be jumping ship from his morning radio host gig.  Probably because of all the money he is getting, but poor guy, what a way to go down in history.  This is a disaster that can not be avoided.
