In a statement the 44-year-old artist called the surgery “minimally invasive” and said she will be undergoing radiation treatment as a precaution.  She said she benefited from early detection, and urged other women to have themselves checked.

“I am inspired by the brave women who have faced this battle before me and grateful for the support of family and friends,” Crow said.

We wish Sheryl the best and hope for a speedy and complete recovery.  She was, is and always will be one of the best and classiest singers around!

rispost Chris Martin’s Scares Fans…Coldplay is Staying Together

February 20th, 2006

coldplay

While accepting the award for best British album earlier this week, Chris Martin said; “You won’t see us at one of these for many, many years so this is our last chance so we should really thank our label for the first time in history.”We won’t see you for a long time. Bye. We mean it. Bye.”

Fans and investors alike took that to mean the band was splitting up.

But a spokesman for the band said Coldplay were “not quitting” and would be starting work on new material soon.

He said: “Coldplay are on the road until July, when their 16-month X&Y World Tour ends in Japan.

“They will then continue working on new material.”

My take is that the future of Coldplay is grim, Chris Martin sure sounded sincere when he spoke about the end.

rispost Willie Nelson’s Queer Cowboy Song

February 15th, 2006

Sticking with the idea that all forms of music news, covering the entire spectrum are important.  We bring you news of Willie’s gay cowboy song.

This song was written long before this year’s Oscar-nominated “Brokeback Mountain” made gay cowboys a kitsch topic and was released yesterday.  The song debuted Tuesday on Howard Stern’s satellite radio show but was written by Texas-born singer-songwriter Ned Sublette in 1981.  Willie recorded it in the late 1980’s.  With lyrics like; “Inside every cowboy there’s a lady who’d love to slip out you would think it was written for the movie itself.

February 9th, 2006

u2 news

Ageless Irish rock band U2 dominated at the 48th annual Grammy Awards in LA, winning five awards to add to the seventeen they’ve grabbed over previous years.

‘How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb,’ won both Album of the Year and Best Rock Album. “Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own” was named Song of the Year.

Their talent appears to be endless, I predict another 22 Grammy’s before they retire.
